Click on the thumbnail picture to see a much happier and relaxed horse one hour later after her first Bowen treatment   Shammy was unrideable following poor saddle fit (rearing, bucking etc). After three treatments, Shammy went back into work and is continuing to make good progress. Lady May - Before Bowen - standing uncomfortably, tense, angular quarters, steeply sloping croup, pony would sink if quarters were touched, difficulty bridling.

One hour later - standing more comfortably, relaxed, softer outline.

Three weeks later - with no change in feeding or regime - quarters more rounded, belly has lifted, neck carried higher, condition/coat has improved, presented quarters to be scratched, bridled by young rider for first time.

Daisy was nervous, and wouldn’t let her owner near her head, but particularly her mouth. She stood camped out in front and behind. She urinated 4 times during and after her first treatment, which was high volume and almost colourless. She is now much more relaxed, allows her head to be rubbed all over and is more affectionate.

Clive is a 4 year old rescued Shetland. His conformation is predisposed to ongoing stress and strain. During the second treatment, he lifted his neck and stood more squarely, clearly happier and more comfortable. These improvements have been maintained.

Clyde had Bowen as “maintenance”. After treatment, his stride was longer, his back came up, and he looked better generally.

Barney is an elderly rescued Shetland cross, who started to object to being ridden. Bowen has given him a new lease of life. With his muscles taken out of tension, his body has elongated, his large belly has reduced, and he has a happier expression and outlook, and he is walking out more freely.

Woody is a 20+ veteran, and presented very stiff and reluctant to move forwards even in walk. His outline changed completely as can be seen by the second photograph, taken 2 weeks after the first treatment. He rested alternate hindlegs and had trouble with R canter lead. His owner reported “Very much improved - moving much more freely and much more willingly!  Just looks generally better in every way. The R canter lead is definitely better.”

Pleonie is pigeon toed, and had to be twitched to shoe her off hind. The second photo, taken a week after the first treatment, shows her standing more comfortably on her near fore. When she was next shod, no twitch was required.

Jemima was in a vicious circle of laminitis and box rest. Everything seemed to have “seized up”, and she could hardly walk. Her owner phoned up the evening after her first treatment to say that she was moving much more freely, and she has continued to make good progress.

Molly had been labelled as a horse with a bad attitude. She was unbalanced, would buck going into canter, and “did everything at 100 miles an hour”. She would kick out if asked to move over in the stable. Molly was very sensitive to her first Bowen treatment, as her muscles were tight and in spasm, but she responded well to the gentle moves, and improved dramatically. Her owner says she is now a different horse - to ride and in the stable. She is calmer, has stopped rushing, and the farrier said she was the best she had ever been to shoe.

Billy is a 30 year old who was very stiff, yet peculiarly, would lift his hind legs outwards at a 45 degree angle to his body, obviously in some discomfort. He was also reluctant to stride out. After two treatments, he is looking much better and is cantering and bucking around the paddock which his owner has not seen him do for 6 years.

Zillion was a lethargic Arab mare who had lost her zest for life. She had a history of laminitis and poll problems, was cold backed and resisted work. She drank like a fish after her first Bowen, and after three treatments, her thrilled owner reported "she is a completely different animal now, uses her back end and flexes her hock like she used to as a youngster!!"
